Jiaogulan – eller Nady Pure, som vi har døbt den – er en vildtvoksende vinart, der i 2000 år er benyttet som kosttilskud og hjælpeplante ved forskellige typer af fysiologiske ubalancer. Den kaldes i Sydøstasien for udødelighedens urt (immortality herb), fordi mennesker i Guizhou-provinsen i Kina drikker te af jiaogulan og lever særligt længe.

Balancerer blodtryk og blodsukker

Jiaogulan er et adaptogen, dvs. et plantestof ligesom ginseng, blot kraftigere. Adaptogener som jiaogulan hjælper kroppens fysiologiske systemer med at overkomme belastninger og komme i balance. Jiaogulan reducerer fedt- og sukkerniveauet i blodet og påvirker blodtrykket nedadgående, når det er for højt – uden at bidrage til for lavt blodsukker. Det konkluderer bl.a. et forskningsprojekt fra Karolinska Sjukhuset i Stockholm (ref. 1, 2, 3).

Herudover stimulerer jiaogulan stamina og energi og medvirker til psykisk stabilitet.

Der er ingen kendte bivirkninger ved indtagelse af jiaogulan.
